The Artistic Evolution of Shakil Mridha: From Realism to a Distinctive Minimalist Style

Shakil Mridha is a multifaceted artist. From the very beginning of his academic journey, he demonstrated exceptional skills in drawing, pencil sketching, watercolor, and pen sketching.
At the undergraduate level, the quality of his academic work was outstanding and highly realistic. However, during his master’s program, he began to experiment with his ideas and modes of expression. He conducted research on Bangladeshi folk forms, colors, shapes, and structures, and gradually developed a new style rooted in minimalistic and geometric forms.
Because he has a very strong foundation, he is capable of both deconstructing and reconstructing forms as needed. This is one of his greatest strengths. I firmly believe that during his master’s studies, he successfully developed a distinctive personal style—something that is one of the most valuable achievements for any artist.
